You will utilise your qualifications, knowledge and experience to provide advice on environmental matters and coordinate relevant monitoring, reporting and compliance activities in relation to contaminated sites and waste management.  You will also provide advice on the planning and operations of the Millar Road Landfill facility to ensure compliance with all statutory and environmental regulations and licence requirements, including managing the waste acceptance as per Department of Water and Environmental Regulation’s guidelines.

You possess extensive communication skills, interpersonal skills, report writing and contract management skills. You are able to manage multiple functions simultaneously, using your well-developed time management skills to meet deadlines. You have a working knowledge of waste services-related guidelines and legal framework, including waste acceptance criteria as per Department of Water and Environmental Regulation and the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Levy Act 2007 (WA) reporting requirements.

You possess a degree or tertiary qualification in environmental science, environmental engineering, environmental health or waste management and/or substantial relevant experience is essential, with project management qualifications being highly regarded. You value lifelong learning and have attended workshops and seminars related to your field of expertise. You have extensive experience in managing environmental and statutory compliance at a senior level with experience in landfill operations highly desirable.

As part of your online application, please provide a summary of your experience and qualifications in environmental science, environmental engineering, environmental health and/or waste management, the application of Department of Water and Environmental regulations and guidelines, and managing environmental monitoring and statutory compliance.  This should be no more than two pages in total.

We are offering a gross salary of $97,537 per annum, depending on skills and experience, and:

  • 11% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5%
