About the role
Join Ku-ring-gai Council's Youth Services team and help create safe, engaging and empowering experiences for local young people.
As a Casual Youth Services Worker, you'll play an active role in delivering exciting programs, events and support services across Ku-ring-gai's youth centres and community spaces. From organising live music events and skate competitions to facilitating school holiday activities, youth projects and outreach programs, you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact in the lives of young people.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting programs at St Ives and Gordon Youth hubs
- Assisting with youth events including live music events, skate competitions, Discobility and Youth Week activities
- Helping to plan, deliver and evaluate youth programs, projects and workshops
- Engaging with young people to identify community needs and develop responsive programs
- Providing support to young people, including those experiencing challenges or crisis situations
- Promoting youth services through schools, community groups and outreach activities
- Maintaining safe, welcoming and creative spaces for young people
Qualifications, skills & experience
- Diploma or Degree in Social Science / Youth Work or related
(or actively working towards) - Current Working with Children Check
- Experience working within the Youth Services or Community Services sector
- Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team environment
- Strong understanding of contemporary youth issues
- Excellent group work and program coordination abilities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to engage and connect with young people from diverse backgrounds
