In this role, you’ll support the Site Supervisor in the delivery of City Construction works across our community. You’ll help plan, supervise, monitor and control civil construction activities, stepping in to guide site operations when delegated or when the Site Supervisor is not on site.
Your work will span a broad range of projects, including road rehabilitation and reconstruction, drainage work, kerb and channel, footpaths and cycleways. You’ll supervise Council staff and contractors, coordinate plant and labour, maintain site records, monitor daily costs and liaise with clients or their representatives to support safe, timely and high-quality project delivery.

Our ideal candidate is a capable and practical civil construction professional who enjoys leading from the front. You’ll bring sound technical knowledge, strong communication and coaching skills, and the confidence to organise people, plant and resources so works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
You will also meet the following criteria:
- Good leadership, interpersonal, coaching and communication skills.
- Good technical and practicable knowledge of civil construction such as road and drainage construction and concrete works.
- Demonstrated experience in the management of staff and resources involved in civil construction and good organisational and planning skills.
- Experience in controlling costs on projects including actively managing budgets by capturing costs and providing financial progress reports.
- Ability to read plans, specifications and set out works.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing high level customer service.
- NSW Construction Induction card or recognised equivalent.
- Class C Driver’s licence.
