As Site Supervisor Construction, you will be part of our City Construction team within City Works, leading the on-site delivery of Council’s civil construction works program. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will plan, schedule and supervise works across projects such as road rehabilitation and reconstruction, drainage upgrades, kerb and channel works, footpaths and cycleways.

You will supervise teams on Council and State road networks and at times through privately owned property, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to specification. Your day-to-day work will include coordinating Council and contract plant and labour, applying quality assurance requirements, managing project costs, maintaining environmental controls and keeping the Construction Works Coordinator informed on progress, budgets and delivery risks.

LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOU

Our ideal candidate is a confident civil construction supervisor who brings strong technical knowledge, practical problem-solving skills and a genuine commitment to safe, high-quality work. You will be comfortable reading complex plans and specifications, setting out works to tight tolerances and making sound decisions on site with minimal supervision.

You will also meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum Certificate III in a field relevant to local government civil construction activities or demonstrated extensive experience in civil construction.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role with particular knowledge in the civil construction sector.
  • Experience in controlling costs on projects including actively managing budgets by capturing costs and providing financial progress reports.
  • Experience in quality assurance testing including following Inspection and Test Plans, level set out and control, pavement testing, concrete testing and work as executed drawings.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the need for and application of environmental controls on work sites.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing high level customer service.
  • NSW Construction Induction card or recognised equivalent.
  • Class C Driver’s licence.
