Animal Aide – Casual

As an Animal Aide at the Blacktown Animal Rehoming Centre, you help ensure animals are treated humanely while providing a positive experience for residents. You support the admission, release, adoption and reunification of animals, manage records and paperwork and assist customers in person, by phone and online. Weekend shifts are a regular part of this role.

You maintain accurate animal and customer records, process invoices and payments and handle enquiries about animals, services and responsible pet ownership. You work with pet owners, volunteers and colleagues to ensure animals are released, adopted or reunited with their owners in line with legislative requirements. You also contact customers, update animal information and help keep daily operations running smoothly.

When required, you assist with feeding, watering and caring for animals, cleaning kennels and catteries and maintaining high standards of presentation and animal welfare. You observe animal behaviour, follow quarantine and hygiene procedures and help create a safe environment for animals, staff and visitors.
