Child Care Assistant x 6 (Full-time)

Posted: 12 days ago
Closes: 09 Aug

Serve with purpose. Grow through community.

Be part of the moments that shape a child's day. Every day, you support children as they learn new skills, build relationships and gain confidence. You help create a safe and welcoming environment where children feel valued, supported and ready to learn.

As a Child Care Assistant, you work alongside qualified educators to deliver care and education programs that support children's learning, development and wellbeing. You supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, prepare materials and resources, assist with planned learning experiences, and contribute observations that support children's developmental records. You help maintain a clean, safe and organised centre and support children's comfort, care and daily routines.

You work closely with families, sharing information about their child's day and helping ensure each child's needs are met. You contribute ideas for activities, support the delivery of developmentally appropriate programs, and work as part of a team to provide consistent, high quality care.

The care and support you provide make a difference every day. Children feel safe and connected. Families feel confident their children are cared for by people who are committed to their wellbeing. In return, you join a supportive team, gain practical experience, and continue building your skills through training, mentoring and day to day learning.

This role suits someone who enjoys working with children, is reliable and caring, and values being part of a team.

At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams, and great teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:

  • a secure, permanent, full-time role with one of Australia's largest councils
  • an entry level salary commencing at $1,197.30 per week
  • a 38-hour working week
