How you’ll make an impact

We are seeking a General Hand - Shire Presentation to join our team. 

As part of the Parks and Reserves team, you will undertake a range of horticultural, maintenance, and cleaning activities to support the ongoing care of Council assets. You will contribute to the presentation and usability of community spaces by performing routine cleaning, grounds maintenance, facility upkeep, and general operational tasks, ensuring Council’s parks and public areas continue to meet community expectations and provide a positive experience for all users. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors and is committed to delivering quality services to the community.

This position offers a salary ranging from $54,599 to $69,892 gross per annum, plus superannuation (12 per cent), with
commencing salary dependant on qualifications, skills, qualifications and
experience.

What you’ll bring to our team

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • Experience undertaking manual labour activities including horticultural maintenance, general grounds maintenance and routine cleaning of public facilities or amenities.
  • Experience in the safe operation of plant and equipment used in parks, open spaces, roadsides and reserves maintenance, such as tractors (with slasher attachments) ride-on mowers, brushcutters, edgers, hedgers, trimmers and chainsaws.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, contribute positively to
    team objectives
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills
