Executive Manager Infrastructure
Executive Manager Infrastructure
Full-Time
The Opportunity
This is a role that connects strategy with real-world impact, shaping how infrastructure is planned, funded and delivered across Local Government in Western Australia.
As Executive Manager Infrastructure, you’ll lead a portfolio focused on roads, road safety and strategic asset management, but more importantly, you’ll help shape the systems, funding and decisions that sit behind them.
You’ll work across policy, advocacy and technical spaces - influencing government, supporting Local Governments, and translating complex issues into clear direction and outcomes. From negotiating major funding agreements to guiding sector-wide capability uplift, your work will directly influence how Local Governments deliver critical infrastructure for their communities.
Whoever joins us in this key Executive role has the comfort of knowing that WALGA is widely respected as the trusted partner of WA Local Government and that the Infrastructure Portfolio is in a strong position for someone to take the reins, build on solid foundations and lead it through its next phase of strategic impact.
What makes this role different
There’s no single “type” of person we’re looking for.
Previous leaders in this role have come from different backgrounds, and that’s deliberate.
You might bring:
- A technical background (engineering, transport, infrastructure)
- A policy or government background
- A strategic or advisory leadership lens
What matters is your ability to lead, influence and make sense of complexity.
We know when we meet a WALGA person, but in summary we’re looking for a leader who:
- Demonstrates executive-level leadership, presence and strategic foresight, leading with credibility, authenticity and impact.
- Possesses high emotional intelligence, builds strong relationships and brings people with them.
- Can influence and negotiate across complex stakeholder environments.
- Understands the interdependencies across all levels of government.
- Embodies WALGA’s values of Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Collaboration, and Curiosity.
