WALGA are looking for an Administration Officer, Commercial Management to provide high quality administrative support to our Preferred Supplier Program, contributing to the smooth day to day running of our supplier contracts and relationships.

This role would suit someone who enjoys the customer service side of administration while also thriving in structured, organised work. You’re confident engaging with people, happy to pick up the phone, and would enjoy building relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.

You’re also someone who enjoys the systems side of administration, learning new tools, supporting others to navigate them, and identifying opportunities to improve processes along the way. You take pride in ensuring contracts, records and enquiries are handled accurately and on time, and you’re always looking for ways to make things work better.

This role sits within WALGA’s Commercial Management Team, which delivers the Preferred Supplier Program (PSP) and supports Local Government Members to access trusted suppliers, contracts and practical commercial advice, ranging from sourcing play equipment for a new community park to specialist services such as shark nets for coastal swimming areas.

In this role you will:

  • Support day to day administration of PSP contracts, including supplier onboarding, variations, compliance and enquiries
  • Maintain registers, documentation and reporting, ensuring systems and data remain accurate and up to date
  • Act as a key point of contact, responding to queries, picking up the phone, and guiding suppliers, Members and stakeholders through our processes and systems
  • Identify opportunities to improve and streamline administrative processes
  • Build your exposure to commercial programs and contract environments over time

About you

You’re organised, dependable and enjoy being helpful. You take pride in getting the details right but also enjoy working with people and being part of a collaborative and innovative team.

You bring:

  • Strong administrative experience in an office environment
  • Great organisation skills and the ability to juggle priorities and follow through on tasks
  • Clear and confident communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to jump in and help where needed

At WALGA, we value curiosity, collaboration, and people who genuinely want to learn, especially those who take pride in supporting others and creating a positive experience for our suppliers and Members.

Why you’ll love working here.

Our Thrive wellbeing program runs all year and is designed to support every aspect of wellbeing. Mental, physical, and social through education, resources, and practical initiatives.

We’re committed to helping you grow, both personally and professionally, and we’re driving a tech roadmap that’s shaping a data-led future. There are plenty of ways to get involved too, with cross-organisational working groups such as Reconciliation, Artificial Intelligence, and Sustainability.
