The Shire of Ashburton is seeking an experienced Waste Coordinator to lead waste operations across Tom Price and Paraburdoo. About the Position

Reporting to the Infrastructure Operations Manager, you will coordinate safe, compliant and efficient waste operations across multiple facilities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supervising Waste Services staff, including training and performance support
  • Coordinating day‑to‑day waste operations across Shire facilities
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation, Shire policies and DWER licence requirements
  • Supporting continuous improvement of systems, processes and work practices
  • Preparing operational reports, budgets and documentation
  • Assisting with delivery of waste‑related capital works and community education initiatives
  • Maintaining high customer service standards and accurate operational records

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience in waste operations or a similar operational environment
  • Proven supervisory or team leadership capability
  • Sound understanding of safety, environmental and compliance requirements
  • Strong organisational, communication and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting systems
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused approach and ability to work autonomously
