The role
Join a dynamic, community focused library team where no two days are the same! In this role, you’ll be at the heart of daily library operations assisting customers, delivering exceptional service, and promoting exciting library programs to the community.
You’ll also take part in a flexible staff rotation program, offering valuable opportunities to gain experience across different teams and locations, as well as occasional evening shifts within the City of Canterbury Bankstown Library Service.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide high quality, customer focussed, and professional service and help maintain a positive Library environment.
- Assist and deliver the library programs and activities, and promote library services and resources to the community.
- Support the team in managing day-to-day library operations and service delivery.
- Liaise with relevant teams to provide accurate and timely information services to customers.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions to maintain current professional knowledge and awareness.
- Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in supporting continuous improvement, including identifying issues and recommending solutions.

You will have:
- Eligibility for membership of Australian Library and Information Association, or relevant industry experience.
- A valid Working with Children Check
- Demonstrated strong commitment to delivering high quality customer service in a diverse, cross-cultural environment.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with members of the public, business unit customers, team members and external partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and follow instructions while working with minimal supervision.

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $71,820 (Grade D, Step1) + 12% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
