About the Role
This is a permanent full-time position working 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 4.00pm with a 9 day fortnight. There are multiple positions available for various locations within the Shoalhaven LGA.
Attendants are likely to be on the on-call roster every 4 to 14 weeks depending on the work area they are in. They may, however, opt to do more "on-calls" due to staff unavailability. The overtime amount will vary depending on what issues arise.
The position could be placed in any of the work teams below (depending on availability, prior experience and skills of the applicant, applicant preferences).
- Water distribution
- Construction
- Water Treatment
- Wastewater distribution
- Wastewater Treatment
This position is responsible for supporting a range of water/wastewater operations, maintenance and construction works. This includes:
- Assist in the construction of water/wastewater mains including the installation of new, replacement and interconnection works.
- Support the operation and maintenance of the treatment plants including testing, troubleshooting issues and grounds keeping.
- Carry out repairs and water maintenance work, including scheduled maintenance of hydrants, valves, pumping stations, mains, and reservoirs.
- Respond to emergency breakdown work as required.
- Inspect, maintain and repair sewer mains and pipes, manholes, water and wastewater pumping stations and fittings on truck mains.

About You
To be successful in the position, you will have:
- Current class C Drivers Licence.
- Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa)
We are seeking someone who works well within a team, is self-motivated, committed to learning and not afraid to get their hands dirty. All training is provided on the job however you will need to demonstrate your understanding of safe work practices and working within a regulatory environment. Experience in manual labour or trade qualification is beneficial, however not essential.
