YOUR ROLE

As the Water Operations Trainee, you will work in a supportive environment to gain the skills and knowledge required for a nationally recognised qualification, while assisting with the operational management and project delivery in the areas of water treatment and waste water treatment.

This is a two-year traineeship.


YOUR TRAINEESHIP

As part of your traineeship, you will:

  • complete a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations
  • be paid while you learn from experienced mentors
  • get hands-on experience with real projects
  • build practical skills that employers value
  • contribute to meaningful work in your local area
  • set yourself up for a successful future in local government
  • have access to e-learning platforms and ongoing training and support through Council’s cultural development program


YOUR WORKING ENVIRONMENT

During your traineeship, you will have access to:

  • a commencing weekly salary up to $947.70, dependent upon age and experience (more information can be provided by the below contact)
  • 12% superannuation
  • a 38 hour week, working a 9 day fortnight
  • 2 health and wellbeing leave days for your Christmas break
  • 3 weeks sick leave per year, cumulative where unused
