About the Opportunity

Join Parkes Shire Council as a Water Civil Construction Assistant in the Infrastructure team. 

In this role you will support and assist in a variety of activities associated with civil construction and labouring within the Infrastructure Services team of Council in relation to water and wastewater operations. In this role you may be required to be on call to assist with after-hours service requirements.

About You

The successful applicant will require strong communication and teamwork skills. The nature of this position may require you to start work early and/or finish work late, and you may be included in the water services on-call roster. 

To be successful in this position you will need to have:

  • Current and maintained NSW Driver’s Licence 
  • SafeWork NSW Construction Induction (White Card)
  • Vaccinations for Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and Tetanus are up to date

It will be highly favorable if you possess any of the following:

  • Up to one year relevant work experience
  • Certificate in Civil Construction or trade qualification or equivalent

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Parkes Shire Council's policies and conditions of employment. 

The role has been evaluated as being Grade 2 of the Council's salary structure with a commencing salary of $999.84 per week ($51,000 - $59,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience) plus super and salary packaging options to increase your take-home pay.
