The Opportunity

We have multiple opportunities across Bega Valley Shires Waste and Recycling Centres (Bemboka, Bermagui, Candelo, Eden, Merimbula, Wallagoot and Frogs Hollow) for diligent individuals to undertake a range of waste facility operations including customer liaison, fee collection, transfer and management of waste within the facility, and maintenance of associated records.

As a Waste Facility Team Member, you will maintain waste facility and associated offices and amenities, including vegetation management as well as maintain site inventories and order replacement stock where required. You will greet customers, inspect waste and quantify fee, collect monies and issue payment receipts.

About You

We are seeking individuals who have a Current Class C (Car) Drivers Licence and two (2) years’ experience in a similar role (indicative).

You will have the following skills and experience;

  • Demonstrated experience in the operation of landfill plant or similar earthmoving equipment.
  • Demonstrated oral communications skills in a customer-oriented work environment.
  • Experience with cash handling procedures

Benefits

These are seasonal casual positions working variable hours per week including weekends and school holiday/peak periods.

The total remuneration package for this position commences at $48.37 gross per hour (inclusive of casual loading, superannuation and allowances), comprising of:

  • $33.60 per hour base salary
  • $8.40 per hour casual loading (calculated at 25%)
  • $5.04 per hour superannuation (calculated at 12%)
  • $1.33 per hour Adverse Working Conditions Allowance Level 2
