Description
The Visitor Experience Officer will work with Traditional Custodians and the local First Nations community following cultural requirements to identify, develop, source and coordinate Indigenous led opportunities to deliver local Indigenous visitor product including retail products for sale through the Visitor Information Centres and other Council facilities. This role will also look more expansively across the broader visitor experience.
The position holder will:
- Develop reliable First Nations and broader cultural product.
- Mentor and support First Nations and other creatives and artists.
- Develop and administer supplier agreements.
- Assist in seeking funding through state and federal grant programs.
- Contribute to achieving Community Strategic Plan 2035 objective: “Implement economic development strategies that benefit local priority groups, including Aboriginal people.”
IDENTIFIED POSITION
Blue Mountains City Council considers that being an Australian Aboriginal or a Torres Strait Islander is an essential personal requirement for this role, in accordance with Section 14 & 21 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 and under clause 26 of the Government Sector Employment (General) Rules 2014.
Remuneration: base salary commencing at $74,200 (pro-rata) gross per annum
+ 11.5% superannuation
+ performance payment 1% - 3.5% annual salary
+ annual award increase
