About the opportunity
Are you looking to start your career as a Veterinary Nurse? We are offering a traineeship at our Animal Rehoming Centre section on a term contract, full-time basis for up to 2.5 years, providing a combination of on-the-job work experience, with 1 day of TAFE per week and the remaining 4 days will be on-the-job training, where you will obtain a nationally recognised Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing while you get paid.
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse Trainee to join our team on a term contract, full-time basis for up to 2.5 years. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who have already completed a Certificate II in a related field and are eager to pursue a career in veterinary nursing, where you will obtain a nationally recognised Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing while you get paid.
In this role, you will contribute to the effective presentation of our animal care facilities, kennels, cattery, and surrounding areas, and play a key role in ensuring the humane treatment of impounded animals. You will also be responsible for the identification of animal welfare issues.

Who can apply
- Applicants must have completed a Certificate II qualification or above in a similar field
- Experience in handling companion animals and/or livestock
- Applicants who are motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to providing a high standard of customer service
- Applicants who have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Applicants must be an Australian citizen or be eligible to work in Australia (evidence required)
- Applicants of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
