About Blacktown International Sports Park (BISP)
Located along the Westlink M7, Blacktown International Sports Park (BISP) is the premier elite training and playing facility in Western Sydney. First opened in 2000 for the Sydney Olympic Games, the facility has continued to grow and now incorporates a variety of sporting facilities across 54 hectares, including:
- Blacktown Football Park
- 12 soccer fields with the inclusion of 6 additional fields completed in May 2020
- Western Sydney Wanderers administration and training facility
- Blacktown District Soccer Football Association administration and training facility.
- Athletics
- International Association of World Athletics (WA) Mondo track
- Turf Infield
- Multi-Use field for League, Union and Soccer.
- Cricket/AFL Precinct
- Two ovals for cricket and AFL in addition to Joe McAleer Reserve (NSW Premier Cricket Ground of the Year 2016-17 and 2017-18)

About the opportunity
This casual role will provide an opportunity for candidates to work with our Venue Experience Supervisor and support the daily operations at BISP. You will be responsible for ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the Sports Park and facilitate a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors at the precinct. This role requires your availability for weekends, and some evening hours.
Some of the duties include:
- support the effective deployment and use of resources for commercial tenants, accommodation guests, hirers and the general public, as directed
- liaise with the Venue Experience Supervisor and other members of staff to ensure that all bookings and activities are effectively managed as set out in the centralised booking system
- assist in the capacity of concierge as directed to support the movement of commercial tenants, accommodation guests, hirers and the general public through the Sportspark.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Minimum Certificate III in a related field
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Experience in a similar environment including sporting, leisure, education medical or community facilities
- Current Working with Children Check valid for paid work.
Desirable:
- Current class C driver's licence
- Attainment of a Pool Lifeguard Certificate
- ASCS level 1 and above or, completion of a sport and exercise science undergraduate degree
- Experience and knowledge within hospitality operations including hotels and catering
- Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
- Experience and knowledge of water testing procedures
- Experience of Priava venue and event management software
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Experience in working within a team environment and as a ‘self-starter’
- Intermediate computer skills.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $35.8211 per hour plus 25% casual loading
- Casual working hours
- Penalty rates apply for weekend shifts
