Permanent, Full Time - 35 Hours, 5 days per week
Salary: $92, 071 - $100, 872 + Super
Location: Liverpool
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Tree Inspection Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of Council's tree maintenance and inspection programs across public land. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the identification, planning, coordination, and supervision of tree maintenance activities across the local government area
- Conducting tree inspections, safety audits, and preparing detailed assessment reports
- Developing and delivering proactive and reactive tree maintenance programs
- Coordinating and managing contractors, including street tree planting programs
- Planning and scheduling works to ensure operational requirements are met in line with best practice and Australian standards
- Monitoring, recording, and reporting on works undertaken, including contributing to KPI reporting
- Supporting contract development and managing financial processes such as expenditure tracking and accounts
- Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through timely and effective service delivery
- Providing technical advice and contributing to program development, including budget planning
- Approving tree removals in line with safety and environmental guidelines within delegated authority
You will work closely with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of arboriculture programs that meet community needs.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will bring: - A Diploma of Arboriculture (AQF Level 5) or equivalent, with relevant experience
- Current Class C Driver's License
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Experience coordinating contractor programs and supervising operational teams
- Demonstrated experience in tree inspection and report writing
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Financial administration and budget control experience
- Experience managing stakeholder expectations
- Experience in tender specification development and evaluation
- Strong understanding of arboriculture practices and techniques
- Knowledge of Work Health & Safety, EEO, and ethical practices
- Understanding of asset management and contract administration
- Strong organisational, planning, and communication skills

The salary (within the above-mentioned range) will be dependent upon the relevant skills, experience, and competencies of the successful applicant.
