Trainee Resource Recovery - Waste Services
Temporary full-time contract (2 years)

Looking for a role where you can learn, grow, and make a real impact? Join our Waste Services branch as a Trainee and gain valuable, hands-on experience while working towards a Certificate III Business Administration.

In this exciting opportunity, you’ll be part of a supportive team that’s passionate about sustainability and community service. From providing essential admin support and helping with customer enquiries, to contributing to social media, marketing, and education campaigns — you’ll be immersed in a wide range of tasks that build your skills and confidence every day. You’ll also work alongside key business units including the Weighbridge, Upcycle Centre, and RRC Operations, learning the inner workings of waste and resource recovery in local government.

What you'll need to succeed? (Essential Criteria):

  1. Currently be enrolled or willing to enrol in a Certificate III Business Administration, demonstrating a commitment to structured learning and professional development.
  2. A genuine interest in the field of Waste Management and Resource Recovery, with a passion for contributing to sustainable environmental practices.
  3. Possess suitable literacy and numeracy skills to meet the educational and professional requirements of the traineeship.
  4. Basic computer literacy, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  5. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under guidance, showing reliability and a strong willingness to learn.
  6. Willingness to work in an outdoor environment, adapting to a range of conditions as required by the role.
  7. Physically capable of performing the duties associated with the position, as outlined in the position description.
  8. Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment
