Council is seeking applications from enthusiastic, motivated individuals for the following position.
TRAINEE ANIMAL CARE OFFICER (Permanent Term appointment – 2 years)
The purpose of the Trainee Animal Care officer is to focus on the day-to-day operations at the Griffith City Pound and Animal Rehoming Centre, with a strong emphasis on animal welfare.
This entry-level, Pathways 2680 traineeship is open to individuals from all backgrounds, not just recent school leavers, and is ideal for someone highly motivated, eager to learn, and enthusiastic about gaining on-the-job experience. As a trainee, you will work towards a nationally accredited qualification while acquiring practical knowledge and skills to set you up for success in the industry.
Skills & Knowledge: The successful applicant will require good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment, and good customer service skills.
Hours of work: 38 hours per week.
Salary and conditions: $803.30 per week plus superannuation. Award increase applicable from July 2025. The remuneration offered will be in accordance with Clause 32C of the Local Government (State) Award 2023.
