The role

Are you a passionate theatre professional? Do you have an interest in supporting arts and culture on the MidCoast? We are currently seeking a Casual and Part-time Theatre Technician to join the supporting cast at the Manning Entertainment Centre.

The Manning Entertainment Centre (MEC) is a vital cultural facility showcasing local and international talent in theatre productions, concerts, festivals, and so much more. As the primary hub for arts and entertainment on the MidCoast, the MEC plays an integral role in supporting local schools and performance groups, Taree Arts Council, Manning Valley Choral Society, and Taree and District Eisteddfod.

This position will assist touring professionals and producers and local community producers to present the best possible performances for our local community. You will need to be proficient in lighting, sound, stage management and fly tower operations with the ability to support our front of house team in a variety of roles where required.

Our ideal candidate will have a high degree of self-motivation and drive, strong customer service values and broad experience in the operation of lighting and audio equipment for live performances.

What you'll bring

  • Broad experience in the operation of lighting and audio equipment, stage management, and other production services
  • NSW Construction Induction Card (White Card) and Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain
  • Commitment to Workplace Health and Safety
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Flexibility and willingness to work long days and weekends/nights

Salary:

  • Starting hourly rate $34.49(exclusive of superannuation)
  • Casual role includes 25% casual loading

Location:This position will be based at the Manning Entertainment Centre, 33 Manning River Drive, Taree.

Tenure:

  • Part-time -14 hours per week (Monday and Tuesday), with additional shifts available to support show times mid-week, weekends and evenings
  • Casual -Adhoc shifts across mid-week, weekend and evening show times
