Sutherland Shire Council is seeking experienced Team Leaders to join our Parks & Natural Areas team. Whether you're passionate about Australian native plants or enjoy the variety of working across multiple sites, we have two exciting opportunities available.
Permanent Full-Time | Team Leader Parks Operations - Joseph Banks Native Plants Reserve
A unique opportunity for a horticultural professional with a passion for Australian native plants.
Based primarily at the renowned Joseph Banks Native Plants Reserve, you'll lead the care and presentation of one of Sydney's few gardens dedicated entirely to Australian native flora. Featuring themed gardens, remnant bushland and an extensive native plant collection, this role offers the rare opportunity to work from a single location while helping maintain one of the Shire's most treasured horticultural assets.
Temporary Full-Time (up to 12 months) | Parks Operations Crew
Enjoy variety, teamwork and working outdoors.
Lead a field-based crew delivering parks and open space maintenance across the Shire. No two days are the same as you help maintain the parks, reserves and community spaces that residents enjoy every day.

About You
You'll have:
- Certificate III in Horticulture (or equivalent)
- MR Driver Licence, or willingness to obtain within six months
- AQF3/ChemCert (or equivalent)
- White Card
- Experience leading or supervising teams in horticulture, landscaping or parks maintenance
- Strong planning, communication and customer service skills
- A commitment to safety, teamwork and delivering high-quality outcomes

- Package:$81,866 - $86,777 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation.
- Hours of work:Temporary & Permanent Full Time roles are available- working 38 hours per week, 9-day fortnight.
