Tweed Shire Council is seeking a dedicated and dynamic professional to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Tweed Regional Aquatic Centres at Murwillumbah, South Tweed Heads, and Kingscliff. This pivotal role ensures the highest standards in safety, supervision, and service delivery across all aquatic programs, while also managing staff rosters, resolving customer concerns, and supporting community engagement. The successful candidate will contribute to program development, marketing strategies, financial oversight, and capital improvement planning. About the role:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations across three aquatic centres: Murwillumbah, South Tweed Heads, and Kingscliff, ensuring top-tier safety, service, and supervision.
  • Manage and roster aquatic staff to maintain industry-standard staffing levels and operational efficiency.
  • Respond to customer needs and feedback, resolving issues and ensuring community satisfaction with programs and services.
  • Contribute to program development, marketing strategies, and capital works planning to enhance facility functionality and engagement.
  • Monitor budgets and financial performance, providing regular reports and forecasts to support operational planning.

We are seeking: 

  • Qualifications in: Current Pool Lifeguard license, Workplace and Assessment Training Cert IV, Royal Life Saving Service Association trainer and assessor QLD/NSW, Level 2 Senior First Aid, Aquatic Operations and Supervision Certificate, Current CPR certificate, Working With Children Check (NSW). 
  • Proven experience supervising large-scale aquatic facilities (Category 1 Pool) with strong leadership and operational oversight.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, promote, and deliver a range of aquatic programs, including learn-to-swim, coaching, and aqua aerobics.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, with a strong commitment to community engagement and customer service.
  • Strong administrative, financial, and technical skills, including report writing, budget management, and proficiency in computer systems such as POS and spreadsheets.

Where it's located:

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
