The Role
As a Street Cleaner, you will play an important role in maintaining clean, safe and welcoming public spaces across our City. Working as part of the City Clean Team, you will undertake a range of cleansing and maintenance activities to ensure Council assets, streets and public areas remain free from litter and debris.
This is a hands-on outdoor role that offers variety in your day-to-day work, with responsibilities ranging from litter collection and public space maintenance to responding to emergency cleaning requests. You will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality services that make a visible difference to the community.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
• Clean and maintain streets, footpaths, parks and other public spaces
• Collect litter and remove debris to ensure public areas remain safe and presentable
• Operate equipment including blowers, whipper-snippers and other small plant
• Respond to emergency cleansing requests as required
• Undertake routine inspections and complete equipment safety checks

You will have:
• Current Class C Driver's Licence
• Experience in street cleaning, cleansing operations or a similar outdoor operational role
• Knowledge of equipment used to undertake cleansing and maintenance activities
• Ability to work safely in a physically active outdoor environment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• A reliable and self-motivated approach to work
• Commitment to delivering high-quality services to the community
Salary starts from $61,112 (Grade A, Step 1) + 12% super, depending on skills and experience.
