You are a skilled and reliable operator with experience in civil construction and maintenance activities. You take pride in your work, have strong time management and organisational skills, and are committed to delivering high-quality outcomes from start to finish.
You bring experience operating specialised plant and equipment, along with a solid understanding of road construction, maintenance practices, and safety requirements.
A strong team player, you’re equally confident working independently or supporting and guiding others on-site. You value safe work practices, communicate effectively, and are motivated to contribute to projects that benefit the wider community.
The Specialist Operator - Plant is responsible for:
- Expertly operate and carry out daily maintenance inspections and servicing for purpose built plant and trucks;
- Apply specialist skills in undertaking a variety of operational civil construction and maintenance activities;
- Coordinate staff and control worksites to ensure activities are undertaken in the appropriate sequence and to the required standard, as required.
The Specialist Operator - CBD is responsible for:
- Expertly operate and carry out daily maintenance and servicing for purpose built plant and trucks;
- Apply specialist skills in undertaking a variety of operational maintenance activities within the Tamworth CBD and beyond as required;
- Undertake routine inspections on CBD infrastructure;
- Engage with contractors undertaking maintenance and renewal works within the CBD;
- As required, coordinate and control staff on the work site to ensure activities are undertaken in the
appropriate sequence and to the required standard; and - Assist in the training and/or instruction of staff in operation plant and equipment.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
- Certificate III in Civil Construction, (or similar qualification) or equivalent experience
- Light Rigid (LR) Driver Licence
- WHS Construction Induction Card
- SafeWork Traffic Control Certificate - Implement Traffic Control Plans;
- Immunisations for Hepatitis A & B, Q Fever & Tetanus or willingness to obtain

Salary range: Grade 8 - $1,190.10 - $1,287.90 per week plus superannuation and allowances for a 38 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
