- Urban Planner: $88,388 to $115,475/ Senior Urban Planner: $121,110 to $128,317 per annum, plus superannuation

The opportunity
As an Urban Planner/ Senior Urban Planner you will be part of the team shaping our new draft Local Planning Scheme No. 3 currently with the State Government for approval to advertise, supported by a suite of city-wide planning policies and design guidelines for our heritage and character areas.
This translates into working closely with the development industry shaping the buildings of tomorrow. Buildings that contribute to the liveability of our city, that help to shape its character and support the economic activity of our city day, night and weekends.
You’ll be reporting to the Principal Urban Planner – Scheme & Policy within City Planning, your responsibilities will primarily include:
- Developing and reviewing planning schemes and policies, including built form controls;
- Standard and complex scheme amendments and assessing landowner scheme amendment requests;
- Transfer of planning controls from Development WA project areas to the City; and
- Provision of professional strategic planning expertise to the Alliance and organisation.
About you
To succeed you will require:
- A tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning or a commensurate discipline;
- Knowledge and experience in implementing planning legislation and processes within government; and
- Experience across one or more of the following: local planning strategies, local planning schemes, precinct plans, standard planning scheme amendments, planning policies or development applications
