Senior Tree Management Officer
Summary of the position:
· Picton location
· Permanent Full-Time - 35-hour week with Flex-Time system
· Salary commencing from $104,598 + 12% Superannuation
· Access to Council Leaseback Vehicle
About the opportunity:
Are you a qualified Arborist looking for a dynamic role where no two days are the same?
Join our team and play a key role in managing and protecting trees across the Wollondilly Shire. In this customer-focused position, you will undertake inspections, provide expert advice on tree management and development compliance, and help deliver positive environmental and community outcomes.
To succeed in this position, you will meet the following criteria:
· Diploma qualification in Arboriculture with demonstrated relevant extensive experience
· Qualifications in tree risk assessment such as Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) or Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA)
· Current Class C Driver’s Licence
· Demonstrated ability to undertake vegetation assessments in relation to trees to determine risk, and ability to prioritise works accordingly.
· Ability to review, interpret and assess vegetation assessment reports, landscape plans and other plans associated with Development Applications.
· Demonstrated understanding of relevant Acts and Regulations such as the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Trees (Disputes between Neighbours) Act 2006, Rural Fires Act 1997, Biosecurity Act 2015 and Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016.
· Demonstrated experience in the management of tree planting programs, landscape projects and contract management
