Senior Property Advisor
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced property professional to join Maitland City Council's Corporate Services Directorate as our Senior Property Advisor.
In this role, you will play a key part in managing Council's property portfolio and providing strategic property advice across the organisation.
You will coordinate strategic land acquisitions and disposals, oversee leases, licences, easements and other property agreements, and provide expert advice to support informed property decisions.
Working closely with stakeholders across Council, you will manage complex property matters, undertake due diligence, negotiate agreements and provide analysis and recommendations to senior management.
This is an opportunity to work across a diverse property portfolio, influence strategic decision-making and contribute to the effective management of assets that support our growing community.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a degree in Business, Property, Legal or a related discipline, or extensive experience managing property portfolios in a public or private sector environment.
You will have demonstrated experience in property management, including drafting, negotiating and managing leases, licences, permits and other legal agreements. You will also possess:
- Experience managing strategic property matters, including acquisitions, disposals and associated investigations.
- Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of relevant property legislation, policies and procedures, ideally within local government.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage sensitive and complex matters.
- Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and supporting staff.
- The ability to work collaboratively within the Property team and across varying departments.
Knowledge of property valuations, land valuation processes and Council's responsibilities under the Crown Lands Management Act 2016 will be highly regarded.
Benefits
This is a full-time, permanent role working a 35-hour week, with a base salary range of $135,845 - $150,788 per year + 12% super.
