• Salary $106,323.88 to $123,335.16 p/a + super
• Permanent full time position – 35 hours per week

About the role

Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Environmental Health Officer to join our dynamic Compliance Services team.

Reporting to the Coordinator Environmental Health Services, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality environmental and public health services across the Ku-ring-gai local government area.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Undertake inspections of regulated premises including food premises, places where skin penetration is performed, public swimming pools and on-site sewer management systems
• Investigate assigned matters and customer requests relating to public health, food safety, pollution control, and environmental health issues
• Provide advice on development applications, and referrals to protect public and environmental health
• Prepare reports and represent Council in legal and regulatory matters as required
• Liaise with other Councils, State Government bodies and community groups as needed

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Degree qualifications in Environmental Health, Environmental Science or a related field (sufficient to satisfy membership with Environmental Health Australia (EHA) NSW INC)
• Current NSW driver’s licence
• At least 5 years experience in local government or a similar regulatory environment
• In-depth knowledge of relevant public health and environmental health related legislation
• Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
