The Role

Reporting to the Building Coordinator and based in Windsor NSW, the Senior Building Surveyor provides an efficient and effective service in relation to certification work, fire safety and development assessment to ensure that development achieves Council’s objectives. Constraints you will be exposed to include bushfire, flooding, heritage, landslip, threatened species, koala habitat, acid sulfate soils, to name a few. You will need a strong work ethic and be willing to take on challenges. Opportunities exist for process improvements and special projects.

About You

You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and have a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments. You will be experienced in negotiation and problem solving and have highly developed report writing skills. You will be customer centric and be committed to providing quality customer service.

Essential Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in building surveying, environmental health or equivalent
  • Extensive relevant experience in development assessment including complex developments
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979 and Local Government Act 1993 and associated legislation and regulations
  • Registered as a Building Certifier with Fair Trading NSW
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
