Senior Arborist – Tree Management
Permanent Full-time Opportunity
35-hour work week (Variable Day Off)
Leaseback Vehicle Available!
Salary Range $89,458.72 - $103,772.24 per hour + 11% Superannuation (Depending on Experience)

 

The Opportunity

The Senior Arborist will focus on providing technical expertise to drive private and public tree management, including providing advice for community consultation, assessment of development applications, contractor management and asset management systems. The position will be accountable for upholding Council’s Statutory obligations and Planning Instrument responsibilities for tree and vegetation management and will ensure orderly and pragmatic management of the trees and vegetation throughout the shire.

A high level of community contact and internal stakeholder liaison is required to ensure the best tree management outcomes are achieved, and to improve the quantity and quality of our urban forest and the numerous benefits they provide the community.

Essential Criteria

  1. Possess tertiary qualification in AQF Level 5 – Diploma of Arboriculture combined with relevant industry experience.
  2. Demonstrated high level experience in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  3. Demonstrated high level experience in the application of Safe working method statements and risk management criteria for staff and contractors.
  4. Class C Drivers License.
  5. Demonstrated High level of understanding of the Preparation and issuance of Notices of Intention to serve orders, Orders and Infringement Notices under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979
  6. Possess up to date Qualifications in TRAQ Assessment or be willing to obtain.
  7. Experience in systems including Property and Rating, Iaudit or and Treeplotter.
