As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a Right to Information Officer who can navigate complex legislative requirements and ensure that our community receives timely access to information.

About The Role

The Right to Information Officer plays a crucial role in assisting the Council to meet its obligations under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act). This position is responsible for processing requests for government information, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, and supporting the overall mission of transparency within the Council.

The successful candidate will demonstrate operational thinking, foster collaborative relationships, and take personal accountability for achieving outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of legislative requirements and a commitment to customer service excellence.

  • Experience in managing and processing access to information requests
  • Demonstrated ability to consult and negotiate effectively
  • High-level verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information
  • A current Driver’s Licence is essential
  • Tertiary Qualification in Business Administration or Information Management is desirable

The successful candidate will be adept at balancing competing priorities and managing time effectively to meet statutory deadlines. Familiarity with local government processes and legislation will be highly regarded.

  • Package: $80,196 - $89,815 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation.
  • Hours of work: Permanent Full-Time 35 hours per week with option of 19-day month with flex-time arrangement.
