Salary Range  Grade 15 $
84,609.04 – $97,335.09, per annum, (dependent upon experience) plus 11% Superannuation.

Council Overview

Strathfield Council (Council) is a medium sized Council located in Sydney’s Inner West. The area of the Council comprises approximately 14 square kilometres and has an estimated population of 46,000 residents, which is growing at 2.5-3% annually. Based on NSW Government projections, the population will increase to over 80,000 by 2036.

About the Role

Strathfield Council has a fantastic opportunity for a Project & Restorations Officer to join our Civil Works Team on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Project & Restorations Officer is responsible for managing the planning and delivery of restoration and project works. And will implement best practice project management systems and processes and ensure assigned restoration and project works are delivered within budgeted year.

The successful candidate will lead and inspire project teams to facilitate collaboration across Council in scoping projects, solving problems, and developing solutions.

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the successful project/contract management at work.
  • Knowledge and understanding of road and infrastructure technical specifications and standards.
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills (written & oral) together with proven ability for negotiation and conflict resolution. Able to communicate and engage different stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Computer literacy enabling competency in the use corporate systems, data collection & entry and developing spreadsheets.
  • Current NSW Class C Driver Licence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team or with minimal supervision (self-managed)
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial budgeting (expenditure and income)
  • Working knowledge of the Roads Act, Council’s powers and duties as a Roads Authority, and other agency and public utility legislation and procedures relating to access to road reserves and public lands. (Desirable)
