Permanent Fulltime
Work-life balance offering a 38-hour work week with a rostered day off every fortnight.

Competitive Salary $63,380.20 - $73,658.52 + 11.5% superannuation p.a (Depending on skills and experience)

The Opportunity

Join a dedicated team delivering key road and infrastructure projects across the community. We're looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Plant Operator to help construct and maintain Council’s Road network and civil assets. As a Plant Operator Construction, you will report to the Team Leader Construction and operate a range of medium to large plant and equipment while also supporting the team with general labouring duties. You’ll work under supervision as part of multidisciplined crews, contributing to construction and rehabilitation works across roads, drainage, and related infrastructure.

What you'll need to succeed (Essential Criteria):

  • Experience working in road and drainage construction or maintenance, including operating plant and machinery like trucks, rollers, excavators, and graders, along with general labouring duties.
  • Able to follow instructions, work well in a team, and communicate clearly with both co-workers and customers.
  • Comfortable using computers, mobile devices, and digital tools to support daily work and job scheduling.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with key stakeholders in delivering information on operational and maintenance services.
  • Hold and maintain MR Drivers Licence, Ticket or Competency qualification to operate Excavator, Grader or Backhoe, and WHS Induction Card
  • Willingness to obtain additional tickets within 12 months (e.g. traffic control, asbestos awareness, working near underground or electrical services).
  • Willing to complete a pre-employment medical prior to commencement
