As a Planning Officer, you will provide advice on Town Planning matters and assist in all professional Town Planning functions as performed by the Planning Services team. This includes processing development, subdivision and rezoning proposals; preparing reports, and provide professional advice to the residents of Rockingham.
You have well developed written and verbal communication skills, coupled with excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills. You are highly organised and possess contract and project management skills. You have sound knowledge of Town Planning legislation and principles, including related environmental and land use practices and their applications.
Possessing of a Degree in Town (Urban) Planning or equivalent in a related field is essential, you also have experience in this field, making you eligible for membership to the Planning Institute of Australia.
To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:

- Time management and organisational skills
- Negotiation, decision making and interpersonal skills
- Sound knowledge of Planning principles and other environmental and land use practices and their application
- Sound knowledge of Planning legislation
- Sound knowledge of the operation of a Local Government authority, particularly in regard to town planning matters
- Sound knowledge of the Residential Design Codes, and the subdivision and development approval process and related legislation
- Sound knowledge of Planning legislation, acts and statutes
- Considerable practical experience in the profession of planning
We are offering a salary range between $102,707 to $110,461 per annum, depending on skill and experience, and:
- 12% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5%
