We are inviting Expressions of Interest from talented People and Culture professionals who would like to be considered for a range of current and future opportunities with the City.
Our People and Culture team is trusted to support leaders and employees across the full employee lifecycle. We provide practical advice, specialist expertise and customer-focused services that help the organisation attract, develop, support and retain a capable, engaged and high-performing workforce.
Whether your strengths are in payroll, people partnering, employee and industrial relations, talent acquisition, HR operations, people systems or workforce data, we would like to hear from people who are motivated by meaningful work, strong service delivery and making a positive contribution.
Opportunities may arise in the following areas
Payroll
Support one of the most critical services in the organisation - ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. Opportunities may include payroll processing, compliance, reporting, system support, process improvement, award and agreement interpretation, and payroll projects.
People Partnering
Work closely with leaders to support strong workforce outcomes and practical people solutions. Opportunities may include workforce planning, organisational change, employee relations, performance support, leadership coaching, workforce capability and generalist HR advice.
People Administration
Provide essential operational support across the employee lifecycle. Opportunities may include onboarding, employment documentation, employee records, HR systems, reporting, general employee enquiries and support to People and Culture processes.
Employee and Industrial Relations
Provide specialist advice and support on complex workplace matters. Opportunities may include investigations, grievances, disciplinary processes, performance matters, industrial instruments, legislative compliance, policy interpretation and case management.
People Systems and Data Analysis
Support the systems, reporting and workforce data that help the organisation make informed people decisions. Opportunities may include HR system administration, workforce reporting, dashboard development, data analysis, process improvement, system testing, data integrity, records management and support for people technology projects.
What we are looking for
We are interested in hearing from people who bring strong service delivery, sound judgement and a genuine interest in supporting people and organisational outcomes.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
- Experience and/or qualifications in a People and Culture area.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound judgement, initiative and attention to detail.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach.
- The ability to build effective working relationships with employees, leaders and stakeholders.
- Confidence working with systems, records, data or confidential information.
- A collaborative, adaptable and customer-focused approach.
- A commitment to the City’s values of Commitment, Teamwork, Courage and Respect.

Eligibility
- To be eligible to work with us, you will need to demonstrate:
- A right to work in Australia, such as a birth certificate, current passport or current visa.
- A satisfactory National Police Clearance dated within 3 months.

Expressions of Interest for this register will close at 5pm AWST on Sunday, DATE MONTH 2026.
Expressions of Interest may be reviewed, and interviews conducted, prior to the closing date. The advert may close earlier than the listed closing date should suitable applications be received, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible. Your application will remain active on our register for 12-months
