Your Position:
The Outreach Services Librarian is a
new role created to enable and encourage access to library collections through
the development of outreach services, promotion of library material and
provision of offsite library touch points. In this exciting role, you'll:
- Spearhead innovative outreach
programs that bring library services directly to the Burwood community - Build meaningful partnerships with
local organisations and internal partners to expand our impact - Lead our vital Home Library Service,
collaborating with our Outreach Services Officer to ensure everyone has access
to our collections - Shape our adult fiction collection
with your expert curation skills and passion for books - Create eye-catching displays and
promotions that inspire readers - Deliver exceptional customer
experiences as part of our collaborative team

To be successful in this role, you
will have:
- Degree in Library & Information
Services recognised by ALIA and minimum two years’ relevant work experience. - Demonstrated broad knowledge of
popular authors, titles and genres of fiction and non-fiction. - Demonstrated experience in the
provision of high quality information and frontline services, preferably in a
public library. - High-level communication skills and
the ability to liaise effectively and sensitively with a range of individuals,
agencies and community organisations. - Demonstrated high-level
organisational and interpersonal skills including the ability to think
critically and analytically.

Working
hours:
- 35 hours per week
- Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm except
- Every second Thursday when you will be
required to work 12 pm to 8 pm - A rostered Saturday shift working 11 am to 4 pm every 8 to 10 weeks
- Time in Lieu working arrangements will be in
place and are negotiated in consideration of the roster and by mutual
agreement with the Team Leader Customer Experience
Key Requirements:
- Current and valid Working With
Children Check - NSW Driver’s Licence (Class C)
- Pre-employment medical confirming
fitness for the role arranged by Council - National Criminal Record Check (NCRC)
required - First Aid Certificate or the
willingness to obtain one
