Transport Operators (Multiple Roles)

Location:  Manilla, NSW

THE OPPORTUNITY

  • 1 x permenant role and 2 x 12 month contracts 
  • Operational role in Council’s road maintenance team
  • Appointment to a role that suits your skills and experience

The purpose of these positions is to undertake a variety of operational works as part of a team in the maintenance and construction of civil infrastructure.  This is a great opportunity to let your unique skills and experience shine in an organisation that offers amazing benefits including a 9 day fortnight, long service leave after 5 years, ongoing training opportunities, career growth & roster stability. 

COULD THIS BE YOU?

The successful candidate will bring a positive attitude and an ability to get the job done. Previous road maintenance experience is not critical however you will bring your own unique skills and experience to the team.

The Operator – Transport Operations can be responsible for:

  • Operating a range of plant and equipment e.g Backhoe, Front End Loader, Bobcat, Excavator (<20t), Truck, Roller, Tractor with associated implements
  • Knowledge of engineering infrastructure construction and maintenance techniques
  • Following procedures and processes
  • Working with minimal supervision
  • Working effectively with others
  • Monitoring and maintaininhg a safe workplace

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS IN THIS ROLE:

  • Certificate III in Civil Construction, Plant or similar OR at least two years experience in a relevant civil construction/maintenance or plant operation related field
  • WHS General Induction for Construction Work
  • MR Driver Licence
  • Immunisations for Q Fever, Hepatitis A & B, Tetanus or willingness to obtain

A Certificate III in Civil Construction, Plant or other related field is desirable however applicants with 12 months equivilant experience and/or a willingness to obtain this Certficate will be accepted.

Salary range: Grade 6 - $1,081.10 - $1,169.80 per week plus superannuation & allowances for a 38 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
