  • Base salary from $58,096.01 - $72,035.91 p.a. plus super
  • Additional allowances up to $17,543.07
  • 14 day roster - Work 9 days, have 5 consecutive days off
  • Commencing at the Alexandria Depot with free on-site parking

About the role

We currently have an opportunity for an Operational Worker to join our Business Centres team based out of our Alexandria Depot on a full-time basis.

Join a collaborative team and work collaboratively to maintain Woollahra’s footpaths and streetscapes.

Reporting to the Team Leader, as an Operational Worker - Business Centres, your main responsibilities will be to provide general maintenance services and cleaning and upgrading works throughout the municipality. 

You will commence work at the Alexandria Integrated Facility and working in a small team, you will attend to designated retail and commercial areas owned by Woollahra Council including suburbs such as Double Bay, Paddington and Watsons Bay.

About you

The successful Candidate will demonstrate a willingness to work collaboratively and perform various cleaning and labouring duties where no two days are the same. You will be a dedicated team player with a can do attitude.

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated ability to perform various functions such as concreting, paving, painting, sweeping and waste collection.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a flexible manner.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work co-operatively as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to carry out work in accordance with established policies and procedures, as directed to the required standards in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Understanding of and commitment to WHS and EEO principles.
  • Current HR Driver’s Licence or willing to obtain within the first 3 months of employment.
  • WHS construction induction (White Card).
  • Available to work across a 14 day roster including weekend work.

Desirable Criteria

  • Traffic Control Licence (Blue Ticket).
  • Experience in Civil Works Construction.
  • Experience driving Mechanical Street Sweepers.
