What’s On Offer
A rare and rewarding opportunity exists for a passionate and experienced individual to join our Perth South West Metropolitan Alliance (PSWMA) team based at the City of Kwinana. This is part-time position reporting to the Community Engagement Specialist and working alongside a dynamic team of dedicated, like-minded professionals.
As our new Coordinator, you will deliver, support and coordinate the Natural Resource Management (NRM) and environmental programs across the PSWMA member councils. The successful candidate will ensure effective program delivery, stakeholder collaboration and governance support for the South West Corridor Development Foundation (SWCDeF).
The position also provides environmental program advice and administration support, identifies regional NRM priorities, oversees consultant-led projects, and facilitates partnerships across councils, industry, and community groups.
Who Are We?
The Perth South West Metropolitan Alliance (PSWMA) is a voluntary partnership of six local governments — the Cities of Cockburn, Fremantle, Kwinana, Melville, and Rockingham, and the Town of East Fremantle. Established in 1983, the Alliance fosters regional collaboration across strategic planning, economic development, and environmental initiatives. PSWMA employees are engaged through the City of Kwinana, which provides administrative support on behalf of all member councils.
What You'll Need
To make an impact in this role the successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Sustainability, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating environmental or NRM programs and projects.
- Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and community liaison.
- Experience working with or for local government and/or not-for-profit organisations.
- Strong project administration, reporting, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in governance support and financial administration as well as an understanding of regional environmental challenges in the South West metropolitan area is desirable.
