Municipal Services Supervisor – Galiwinku

We are seeking an experienced Municipal Services Supervisor to lead the delivery of essential municipal services in Galiwinku. This hands-on role sits within the Council Services team and plays a key part in keeping community infrastructure, public spaces and waste services safe, compliant and well maintained. If you enjoy leading teams and working in a remote community environment, this role offers meaningful and varied work.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and supervise the Municipal Services team to deliver safe, compliant and reliable municipal services.
• Oversee day-to-day operations including waste management, landfill activities, roads maintenance and grounds upkeep.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, environmental and legislative requirements through inspections, reporting and corrective actions.
• Coordinate daily work schedules, manage attendance and performance, and support staff capability development.
• Operate and oversee the safe use and maintenance of plant, vehicles and equipment.
• Respond to operational issues, emergencies and severe weather events in line with established procedures.

What we’re looking for:

• Tertiary qualifications or substantial experience in municipal services, civil works, waste management or similar operational environments.
• Current MR driver licence and relevant plant competencies (such as backhoe, skid steer or loader), with the ability to drive manual vehicles in remote conditions.
• Demonstrated experience supervising teams and delivering operational services in a local government or similar setting.
• Strong planning, problem-solving and decision-making skills in a resource-constrained environment.
• Proven commitment to workplace health and safety and the ability to implement safe systems of work.
• Experience working in, or with, remote communities and an understanding of community-based service delivery.

• Competitive salary ($93,398.46 – $99,086.39 p.a. excl. super) with annual reviews under the Enterprise Agreement.
