Your Role as a Mechanic

In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the hands-on maintenance, inspection, and servicing of modern fleet assets. Your expertise will ensure the safety and compliance of our vehicles, while also maximising their availability for community use.

As a Mechanic, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality, cost-effective mechanical maintenance services for a diverse range of fleet assets.
  • Diagnosing and repairing complex vehicle systems, ensuring adherence to manufacturer standards.
  • Completing necessary administrative duties, including accurate electronic maintenance records and safety documentation.
  • Providing on-the-job training and mentorship to apprentices and new team members.
  • Collaborating with team members to achieve operational objectives and enhance overall team productivity.

Who We Are Looking For

We seek a dedicated and skilled Mechanic who values teamwork and is committed to providing exceptional service to our community. The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Certificate III in Automotive Engineering (Heavy Vehicle or Heavy Mobile Plant)
  • MVRIA Mechanic’s licence and Class C Drivers licence (Class HR Drivers licence is desirable)
  • At least one year of post-trade experience servicing and repairing heavy vehicles.
  • Strong technical ability to diagnose complex system faults, with sound hydraulic and electrical experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset, ready to mentor and collaborate with colleagues.

  • Package: From $93,223.00 - $95,198.17 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation ($67,752.00 - $69,727.00) base salary, plus allowances $15,254.72 (market allowance), $1465.60 (pump allowance) and $8,750.85 (shift allowance)
  • Hours of work: Casual, Part-Time and Full-Time opportunities (38 hours 9-day fortnight) will be considered
  • Afternoon Shift: 1:00 pm to 10:20 pm. Monday – Thursday 1:00 pm – 10:20 pm. First Friday 12: 00 pm – 4:00 pm. Second Friday RDO scheduled. Must be flexible to work a reasonable number of public holidays
