As the capital city of Western Australia, the City of Perth is a Local Government that is ambitious for the future. To achieve our aims, we recruit the very best people who understand the City exists to enable and deliver the aspirations of the community.

The Opportunity

The City of Perth is seeking two talented marketing professionals to join our Marketing & Communications team, with opportunities available as a Marketing Officer and Marketing Advisor.

Working within our Engagement & Activation Alliance, you'll help develop and deliver innovative, integrated marketing campaigns that support the City's strategic goals, strengthen our brand reputation and contribute to the vibrancy and activation of Western Australia's capital city.

While both positions work across end-to-end campaign delivery, stakeholder engagement and agency management, each provides a different level of responsibility and focus.

Marketing Officer

As a Marketing Officer, you'll develop, deliver and evaluate marketing campaigns and initiatives identified through the City's annual Marketing & Communications Plan. Working with the City's creative and media agencies and with guidance from Marketing leadership, you'll manage campaigns across paid and owned channels and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the right campaign approach is established from the outset.

Your responsibilities would primarily include:

  • Planning and managing end-to-end campaign delivery across paid and owned channels;
  • Developing marketing materials, content and messaging in collaboration with internal stakeholders;
  • Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on campaign performance to identify opportunities for continuous improvement;
  • Supporting website campaign implementation, including landing pages, tracking and conversion optimisation; and
  • Building productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external creative and media agencies.

Marketing Advisor

As a Marketing Advisor, you'll take a more senior role in the planning, development and delivery of marketing campaigns and initiatives, exercising a high level of professional judgement and autonomy.

A key focus of this position will be leading the marketing plan and associated campaigns supporting the activation of the Elizabeth Quay precinct, including oversight of its website and social media channels. You'll also contribute to broader City marketing strategy and initiatives.

Your responsibilities would primarily include:

  • Leading the development and implementation of the Elizabeth Quay marketing plan and associated campaigns;
  • Managing end-to-end campaign execution, including creative development, media planning and integrated rollout;
  • Overseeing the Elizabeth Quay digital presence, including its website and social media channels;
  • Managing campaign budgets and overseeing creative and media agency outputs;
  • Providing specialist advice on campaign direction, brand execution and marketing best practice; and
  • Building partnerships with precinct tenants, hospitality operators, event organisers and other key stakeholders.

About You

We're interested in hearing from experienced marketers who know how to turn a strong brief into effective, audience-led campaigns.

For the Marketing Officer opportunity, you'll demonstrate experience managing end-to-end campaigns across paid and owned channels, using research and audience insights to inform campaign development, messaging and channel selection. You'll bring strong communication, stakeholder engagement, project management and agency management skills, together with a tertiary qualification in marketing or a related field, or equivalent experience.

For the Marketing Advisor opportunity, you'll bring substantial experience developing and delivering tourism, retail, activation or destination marketing initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and competing objectives. You'll have demonstrated expertise leading integrated marketing campaigns across traditional and digital channels, along with strong agency and commercial partnership management, analytical and strategic marketing capability. A tertiary qualification in marketing or a related field and at least seven years' relevant experience is required.

Knowledge of Perth's tourism, retail, hospitality or cultural sectors would be highly regarded for either opportunity.

Above all, you will live our values of Commitment, Teamwork, Courage and Respect that allow us to come together to support our community.
