About the Opportunity
Working with the Marketing and Communications Lead, the Communications Officer is responsible for delivering a variety of communication strategies requiring a higher level of detail. This includes the following elements:
- Implementing and managing appropriate communication engagement strategies
- Effective written communications across a variety of platforms
- Delivering purposeful marketing campaigns and reporting against those metrics
- Contributing to and managing the delivery of major Council publications
- Develop social media content schedules
- Manage public relations activities
- Preparation and management of small budget allocations
- Maintain Council’s brand identity
About You

- Demonstrated skills in the proactive management of communication strategies.
- Minimum diploma or 5 years substantial experience in a similar role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor communications for a range of audiences.
- Demonstrated effective project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to operate both independently and as a team member to produce high-quality work and meet deadlines.
- Strong commitment towards delivering exceptional customer service internally and externally.
- Demonstrated understanding towards Council’s Customer Service Charter
- Strong commitment towards professional learning and development.
- Working knowledge and use of software including, but not limited to Microsoft office suite, web management systems, email marketing platforms, google analytics, meta business suite, financial/accounting systems, and Adobe Creative Suite.
