  • Up to $165 p.a. TRV 
  • Contract - 4 Year Term
  • 5 weeks annual leave
  • Based in Innisfail 

About the Role

The Manager Waste and Resource Recovery will lead the Waste and Resource Recovery team to ensure the efficient and effective, commercially sound, delivery of best practice waste and resource recovery services in the region. A key component of the role is to contribute to a community education campaign that achieves proactive, participative, self-regulation, improving public safety and community outcomes related to waste and resource recovery.

Key Result Areas

  • Best practice waste management and waste facilities management is developed and maintained
  • Innovative waste management practices are used such as the use of Waste to fuel or energy reuse, recycling and re-sale of usable materials occurs reducing the impact on landfills and the environment
  • Waste and resource recovery practices compliment and enable tourism, development, new industry (including adventure sports, eco-tourism, agriculture, power generation, water supply etc.)
  • Effectively Manage performance and conduct of appointed Contractors and Vendors within the established frameworks and contractual Key Performance Metrics to ensure optimized outcomes for Council
  • Compliance enforcement is assessed and conducted against a risk management framework and risk will be mitigated
