Manager Maintenance Operations (Ref: 1233) – Fixed Term
About the position:
The Manager of Maintenance Operations oversees the effective and efficient leadership and management of the City's Maintenance Operations function. This includes responsibilities of planning and scheduling maintenance, renewal and minor upgrades to a broad range of the City’s Transport and Open space assets.
Furthermore, the maintenance operations function oversees the management and maintenance of City infrastructure including sealed and unsealed roads, drainage, public open space, playgrounds, trees, lighting and coastal assets. This position ensures that all programs are delivered within agreed budgets and comply with relevant state and federal regulations, City policies, procedures, and Australian standards.
Key accountabilities:
- Effectively lead and manage the Operations Centre at the Geraldton and Mullewa Depots to ensure the efficient delivery of all approved annual programs and services within City policy and legislative constraints.
- Deliver excellence in customer service through high quality and efficient management of community maintenance requests.
- Develop, implement and maintain high quality infrastructure asset management plans and proactive maintenance systems for road, park, stormwater drainage, playground and lighting asset classes.
- Ensure compliance with City and Local Government procurement requirements through the development, implementation and maintenance of annual supply tenders, use of e-Quotes and approved purchasing procedure.
- Work closely with the City’s corporate officers to advance safety in the workplace through implementation of the City’s WHS and Risk Management Systems.

Position requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Engineering, Asset Management, or a related field, along with relevant experience. Alternatively, candidates with a lower-level qualification and substantial experience in managing a diverse range of assets will also be considered. Furthermore, extensive experience and knowledge in managing a multidisciplinary workforce and comprehensive knowledge of statutory requirements, laws, frameworks and Australian Standards relevant to infrastructure projects are highly regarded.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
This role is offered as a five (5) year fixed term contract. A salary package of up to $215,700 per annum will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
