It is anticipated that our population will grow by 1.9% per annum over the next 20 years as per the Hunter Regional Plan, higher than the state growth average. With an additional 2,400 dwellings to be provided over the term of the Hunter Regional Plan, Dungog will be the second fastest growing LGA in the Hunter Region.

Your next opportunity
Dungog Shire Council is seeking an experienced and contemporary leader to join our Leadership Team as Manager Corporate & Customer Experience. This strategic leadership role is responsible for shaping and delivering Council's customer facing services and key corporate governance functions. Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and leaders across the organisation, you will drive service excellence, digital enablement, governance maturity and organisational capability.
Leading Customer Experience, Information Technology, Records Management and Library Services, you will play a critical role in enhancing how Council engages with customers and delivers accessible, contemporary and responsive services to our community. The role also provides oversight of key governance functions including internal audit coordination, public access to information (GIPA) and insurance management, ensuring strong governance, transparency and compliance across the organisation.
We are looking for a collaborative and influential leader with experience in customer service, corporate governance, digital systems and organisational improvement. You will bring strong strategic thinking, a customer-focused approach and a demonstrated ability to lead change and deliver high-quality services. Essential selection criteria include (full criteria in the Position Description):
- Degree in Business, Public Administration,
Governance, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent
extensive experience in a related field - Demonstrated senior leadership experience
across diverse corporate and/or customer-facing functions - Proven experience in governance, including
policy development, compliance and internal audit coordination - Experience managing multidisciplinary
teams and delivering integrated services - Strong understanding of relevant
legislation and regulatory frameworks, including GIPA and Code of Conduct
requirements

This position is placed at Grade 15 of Council’s salary system. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity. The salary offered is up to $138,710 per annum plus 12% Superannuation and leaseback vehicle. A market premium may be applied for the right candidate.
This role works a 19-day month with 1 rostered day off (RDO) every 4 weeks.
