About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity available for the Manager Community Law Enforcement and Waste. We are looking for a leader who is passionate, resilient and innovative.

You will play a large role in delivering on our vision to be the best Council in Australia. This is a brilliant opportunity to work with us in supporting stakeholders such as local sporting associations by delivering high-quality services to our community. 

You will be the key lead of the service delivery and functions of the Community Law Enforcement and Waste section, specifically:

  • Ensure the continuous improvement of our customer experience
  • Ensure the effective and efficient operation of the section
  • Provide strategic advice to the Director, Chief Executive Officer and Council on issues that may impact on the organisation
  • Facilitate the provision of information, advice and promotion of Community Law Enforcement and Waste section issues.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications with extensive relevant experience
  • The ability to develop and implement a vision for the pro-active and positive development of Council’s Community Law Enforcement and Waste section
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations
  • Demonstrated commitment to stakeholder and customer service
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills
  • Exceptional inter-personal, leadership and management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve successful outcomes within agreed timelines, while balancing competing priorities and stakeholder needs
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Sound business acumen
  • Current driver's licence.

Desirable:

  • An in depth understanding of local government accountability and legislation
  • Availability to work flexible working hours.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Managerial Staff Agreement.

  • A competitive salary will be negotiated with the preferred candidate based on qualifications and experience
