About The Role

The Development Landscape Architect plays a vital role within the Planning directorate. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality technical advice on landscape architecture matters related to development proposals, conducting inspections for compliance, and engaging with the community to enhance the urban environment.

As part of our Development Services team, you will assist in implementing programs and policies that align with the Council’s strategic objectives while promoting sustainable practises in landscape development.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in landscape architecture and demonstrate a commitment to delivering quality outcomes. We seek someone who can effectively collaborate with various stakeholders and navigate complex decision-making processes.

  • Tertiary qualifications in landscape architecture, horticulture, arboriculture, or a related field.
  • Class C Drivers Licence and General Construction Induction Card NSW.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing landscape plans for large or sensitive sites.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.

You will be adept at analysing competing issues, providing constructive feedback, and contributing to the improvement of processes within the team. Your proactive approach and dedication to community engagement will be essential for success in this role.

  • Hours of work:Permanent Full-Time. Working 35 hours per week. You will have the option of a 19 day month with Council's ADO system (Accrued Day Off).
